NCLEX Passer Success Story: “NCLEX-RN exam was one of the most nerve-racking tests a nurse could encounter but patience is a must,” said Merylle Anne Eslabra, who recently conquered her NCLEX-RN examinations last May 21, 2020.

Ms. Merylle started her journey back in December 2017, by consulting with IPASS Processing, an agency who has helped thousands of nurses to become licensed in the USA. Our experienced staff walked her through the states she can pursue, fees, and documents needed for the process.

“NCLEX involves such a tedious step by step processes. So before starting your application, decide on which state you’re gonna apply to. Requirements vary from state to state; therefore patience is the ultimate key. Some NCLEX applicants prefer to do a DIY application, while some sought help with trusted agencies. Since I know for a fact that a DIY application would be difficult for me, I consulted with IPASS PROCESSING and everything went smoothly from then on.”

Initially, she was waiting for her departure to Ireland while her NCLEX process was ongoing and she originally planned to the NCLEX examination the soonest time as she arrives in IE.

But then, plans do change and she didn’t want to take risks as she felt that she was not ready for the test. Hence, she used more time in order to focus on her preparation.

On a side note, mind you, conquering board exams is never easy as you need to harmonize aspects of your lives such as finding time for the review while working, keeping your motivations on check amidst personal struggles.

During her incredible journey, Ms. Merylle used various materials for her review. As she explained, the two types of NCLEX takers are those who prefer self-study and those who prefer to enroll in a review program. While she did both, these are the materials that she utilized on her self-review.

  • Saunders NCLEX-RN 7th edition
  • UWorld 2100 question bank (no self-assessment included)
  • NCSBN learning extension NCLEX-RN review (content + questions)
  • 35-paged review summary of NCLEX
  • Mark Klimek audios
  • Archer Review

Her preparation time was between 2-3 months. IPASS registered her for her exams in February and since then she made sure that she made every day worth it.

These are some real tips coming from our newly Registered USRN.

  1. Be financially prepared as the expenses from the beginning till you take the exam will not be a joke. Ms. Merylle explains that being prepared doesn’t only end on the process but also extends to your reviewers. Enrolling in a review program is an example.
  2. Patience goes a long way. NCLEX is a tedious process that entails several procedures. Ms. Merylle also explains that cooperating with your trusted processing agency is needed to avoid delays in the processing.(Quality assurance is always implemented on our end to ensure quality service provided to all clients).
  3. “What works for me, might not work for you.”It’s important that you discover the type of learner that you are, and apply it on your review.IPASS shall post a separate blog on preparing for your NCLEX examination, and review guides for NCLEX-RN.
  4. Experience is the best teacher. Your current area of designation may give you a boost when it comes to practice questions. Take it as a learning opportunity, as they say.

One word to describe NCLEX exam: CHALLENGING. Ms. Merylle did not let her anxiety get the best of her. She kept her calm and focused on her review. While NCLEX is not an easy exam, her advice for future NCLEX takers is:

  • “Nothing worth having is easy. You have to sacrifice your time and give your 101% effort and never stop praying as it will always work as long as you do your part”

Indeed, the fruit of labor is a success. Congratulations to you, Ms. Merylle Eslabra!

We look forward to witnessing your success in your future endeavors!
