The National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses, or NCLEX-RN, is a standardized test established by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) to determine whether a candidate can work as an entry-level healthcare candidate in Australia.
One of the 15 National Boards of AHPRA collaborates to regulate qualified foreign healthcare professionals working in Australia. Furthermore, the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, or NMBA, manages Australia's nursing and midwifery practice.
To become a Registered Nurse in Australia, the candidates must pass the NCLEX-RN exam. Candidates who have completed an accredited nursing program are eligible for this exam, designed in a comprehensive manner that covers numerous nursing concepts.
However, one foreign healthcare candidate may be eligible to take the NCLEX Australia exam while another may not. That all depends on their level of education, work experience, and other factors.
To start with the NCLEX Australia exam application, the foreign healthcare candidate must follow the standard process. Here's how to start applying for the NCLEX Australia Exam Application.
As part of the verification process, a candidate must provide a list of prerequisites. Once all the necessary documents have been completed and verified, the candidate is qualified to begin Australia's NCLEX-RN examination application process. Then, the candidate can now proceed to the IQNMs qualifications.
International Qualified Nurses and Midwives, or IQNM, certifies all the qualified foreign nurses and midwives who dream of working in Australia as registered nurses. However, an enrolled nurse or midwife must complete an orientation, obtain qualifications, and initial registration in an Australian healthcare setting before proceeding to the next phase.
The candidate will receive approval via email notification from AHPRA once the candidate meets all the standard qualifications during the verification of their documents. The candidates can now proceed with the NCLEX examination in Australia.
Once approved the candidate can proceed to the NCLEX Australia Examination. The candidate can now choose their preferred exam date and prepare for the exam through various printed materials and online review courses.
After passing the NCLEX Australia, the candidate is advised to proceed to OSCE.
OSCE stands for "Objective Structured Clinical Examination," it is a beneficial aspect of nursing education because it enables students to practice and demonstrate clinical skills in a standardized medical scenario. This is one of the prerequisites before becoming a registered nurse in Australia.
Each candidate is tested one-on-one with one or two impartial examiners. This test can either be with actual patients or simulated, meaning actors or electronic patient simulators.
Once the candidate passes all examinations and assessments, the candidate is advised to proceed to requisition of license issuance.
Licensure application may be challenging due to overwhelming qualifications and NCLEX-RN Australia examination application requirements. Therefore candidates are encouraged to seek support, especially our international healthcare candidates.
