1. What can you say about the content of the review program?
Ipass Review Program has been organized, compiled and delivered veey systematically, in such a way that really helped me as a student who was initially lost as to how I would go about the NCLEX review process. With too many subjects and concepts to master, Ipass effectively placed the videos, the materials and the roadmap for the student’s ease and convenience, with freedom to go back to anything as necessary. For me, I do not know if I would pass at 85 questions if I did not enroll with Ipass. Also, the program helped me stick to it without overwhelming myself with too many sources. Aside from Ipass, I just partially used Le Charity and Uworld and that’s it. They were more than enough for me
2. How your online review program helped you in your exam prep
With a very busy, multi-tasking life, the online review program helped me strategize for a high quality review at my own pace and time. I watched the recorded videos and they allowed me to return, pause, or even forward videos if I had to. The practice tests in the moodle helped me a lot.
Also, the review program assisted me in scheduling just the right amount of study per day, not too much and not too little. The reviewers even if the videos were recorded impacted my review so much as I saw their hardwork and practical inspiration for nurses.
3. What is your feedback about the Roadmap to NCLEX book?
Very much helpful. I tried my best to finish it but I was not able to read cover to cover. It coincides with the online videos so the book really supported the video learning. I recommend every student to master both. The quick reviewers of normal values and the conversions helped a lot!!!
4. What can you say about your NCLEX educators? (Jay, Rosanna, Ryan, Hya, Geno, Paola)
Kudos to the reviewers. Again I said I reviewed mostly offline but believe me I even cried when I hear inspirations from Sir Jay, Mam Rosanna, Mam Paola and laugh hard with Sir Ryan. For me to talk nonstop for 4 hours is very hard and all these educators did that well. I felt their sincerity and desire for us to pass. They impacted me even though they do not know me. Special mention to the ana physio of Sir Jay – always mindblowing, his knowledge of all these systems and his capability to teach them all very well!!
Mam Pao, one of my favorites for being so knowledgeable by experience.
Mam Rosanna, I listened intently to her sharing of how nursing and life looks at the US for the immigrants
Mam Hya also was soooo good in teaching in such a way that difficult concepts become fun and understandable because she herself knows them by heart.
Sir Ryan lifted my heart when I was soooo anxious and stressed. I was so encouraged by him conducting the review so passionately, infused with fun in it.
5. What can you say about the review success coaches ( Mark, Jaymi, Geno, Paola, Rosenda, Emil, Sylvester, Jesie)
I am most grateful for Sir Emil even though we just spoke twice online. Because of him, I learned that I must establish a calendar so we have a target and this should keep us on track. This also helped me monitor myself, if all systems were covered? What needs reinforcing. Sir Emil taught me to master the concepts first before jumping to Qbanks.
6. What is your nursing background and how the online review helped in your NCLEX preparation?
I graduated BSN in 2010 and passed the PNLE the same year. Due to nurses oversupply in the PH that year I had difficulty in finding a job. Too many trainings, volunteered here and there and even paid a hospital for dialysis nursing training and experience. Was frustrated and even got sick when I volunteered and overworked for a tertiary hospital in Bulacan.
In 2011, I left the profession when I shifted to doing IT work until my 5th year in the company in 2016, I left when I settled and married an IT professional in the said company. I got a part time church administrative work in 2016 while I jumped to doing different part time jobs from teaching, to doing HR, business, and all other non-nursing jobs to live and survive in the Philippines while I have also become a mother of 2 children.
I have forgotten nursing and got lost in terms of what to dream of? when my thinking is just to survive and raise my kids. Also, I enjoyed my church volunteering initiatives as I am also the Senior Pastor’s daughter.
The pandemic and my husband’s stroke in 2021 opened my eyes to dreaming more for myself and my family. I remembered my first love (nursing) due to so much care I had to do for my husband. I realized God might use me again in the field of promoting quality of life by caring for people health-wise. In addition to this, my yearning for a career and to discover my identity (coz I have done a lot of works in diff fields already. I dont know what I really am). I was confused to what I should be? God reminded me that I finished College with the nursing degree for a purpose and for a reason and I shouldnt abandon it completely just because of the negative situation of nursing in the Phils.
So I worked at the bedside, MS at the Chinese General Hospital for a year. This is when I started review with Ipass. 6 mos before the Nclex, i resigned from the hospital to be able to study well as I have not given up my church works while mothering my 2 kids at the same time. I sort of chose which to focus on.
Ipass helped me. The Roadmap, Le Charity questions and ratio, Uworld are powerful tools esp when combined altogether in a systematic way.
7. What board of nursing did you apply for the NCLEX?
New York
