Many people are confused regarding some things when in comes to taking a licensing exam in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). Here are some facts to ponder.

The Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) holds the purpose of the examination to assess one’s knowledge, skills, and ability of one’s chosen medical specialty. However, passing doesn’t necessarily mean getting the practical license right away. SCFHS may require some requirements and procedures before granting it. 

One must be eligible to take the exam and acquire an eligibility number issued by SCFHS. The test will depend on the qualification and experience. Each person can have three attempts.

Everything is the same for foreign applicants and those from Saudi Arabia except the cost of payment. It may vary on the country where the test is taken. Still, the same questions for the examination are asked.

In addition, if you are testing outside of your country of citizenship, you must present a valid passport. 

As for the examination date, there is no fee charge when rescheduling or cancelling it within at least 30 days prior to the day of the test. Within 16 to 30 days, $50 will be of charge. If 15 days or less, there is no refund and one will lose his original test fee. It will be that way unless with an exception of full justification and Prometric discretion. 

Exam questions are mostly on multiple choice. Depending on the exam title, exams are between two (2) to seven (7) hours. Generally, there are 100 to 300 questions. 

At most exams, takers can immediately get the results at the end of the test. One will receive certification from the Test Center Administrator which will contain information as to state whether there is a success on passing. If the certificate is lost, contact SCFHS. Then, If the results are not given right away, one will be given a Notice of Completion for the scores. 

When unable to take the exam, one will be receiving an incident number and have a rescheduled date without any fee.

If there is an error or anything wrong within the test, reach out to the administrator. The questions are checked and verified repeatedly before releasing it for examination. Though when this happens, there will be an investigation of the incident and later informing the client about the outcomes.
