(Estimated reading time: 2 minutes)

New South Wales is developing this new pilot plan to welcome international students to Australia as early as July this year.

The NSW Health and NSW Police supported the pilot plan. Recently the NSW Treasurer Dominic Perrottet announced this pilot plan. This plan enables 250 international students to return to Sydney per fortnight from mid-year.

However, this NSW pilot plan is still in the final review with the Australian federal government. According to the spokesperson, it could take eight weeks before the first batch of international students return to the state after they receive approval.

Aside from that, the NSW government also advertised an expression of interest by inviting those providers based in Sydney with a suitable purpose-built student accommodation to submit an expression of interest to the house of international students that come into NSW for the 14-day quarantine period.

According to Treasurer Perrottet, the second most valuable export in Australia is international education. That is why NSW is still working to facilitate the safety of those returning international students and revive this sector as quickly as possible.

More than 250,000 international students are studying in NSW each year. Moreover, they’re bringing back international students can help the sector recover.

Most of our partner schools are delighted to give world-class education to the returning international students. In addition, they ensure the health and safety of their students coming back on-campus.
