There are many pathways for IQNM (Internationally Qualified Nurses & Midwives) and one of those is the OBA (Outcomes-Based Assessment) pathway. Moreover, with the launching of this pathway, new doors and opportunities are available for our nurses and midwives.
In order for an IQNM to be able to work in Australia, they are to register in APHRA (Australian Health Professional Regulation Agency). In addition, APHRA is responsible for assessing the abilities of an IQNM.
Internationally Qualified Nurses & Midwives must be able to pass the following exams:
Cognitive Assessment Component is a computer-based assessment comprising of MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions). Moreover, if you will sit for the NCLEX-Australia in the Philippines, the testing center is in Makati, Manila. However, there are other Pearson Vue Testing centers worldwide.
Behavioral Component (OSCE) is a practical exam that will assess the knowledge, skills, and competence of our nurses and midwives. Taken in Adelaide, Australia.
There are 3 stages for the OBA pathway which are:
- NCLEX
- OSCE
- License Registration
