We Live in a fast-paced society, if you snooze you lose, that’s how it usually goes. With the sudden pandemic outbreak, everything seemed to have stopped. Public places are all shut down. Our daily lives have suddenly come to a rapid and forceful halt. This pandemic definitely affected all of us one way or another.

The lockdown measures that were implemented beginning March 2020 covered temporary closures of public places including testing centers. This meant that examinees scheduled to take the exam had to cancel and follow safety protocols given by the government. They were supposed to take the exam they have been allocating months/years to prepare for. Preparing to fulfill their dreams of working abroad and provide a bright future for themselves and their loved ones. I said years because exam preparation doesn’t only include the review, it comprises physical, emotional, spiritual, and financial well-being. We have a lot of things to consider when taking up an exam.

Just imagine how frustrating it can be to be that close to achieving your dreams to have a license abroad, only for it to be stopped by a factor that no one really wanted. Your momentum will definitely be shifted and it’s not a great feeling to lose it. However, the pandemic is not a reason to lose sight of what you are really aiming for. Here are some thoughts to ponder on how to keep a positive attitude despite our current situation:

DELAY CAN BE GOD’S PROTECTION

Everything happens for a reason, as cliché as it sounds but it is the truth. Nothing in our life goes by without a purpose. Delays are hard to accept. When we prepare for an exam our anticipations are already made due to the fact that there is a booked date and not being able to fulfill that can be quite stressful. But keep in mind that God is protecting us from possible wasting of resources and also against possibly acquiring Covid-19. These are just circumstantial situations but possible scenarios if we have proceeded with the exams and ignored safety protocols.

EXTENDED PREPARATION TIME

Studying can be a drag, yes, I have been in that situation where I cannot tolerate the extended period of studying. However, we always say that preparation is key to ace your exams so this can only mean one thing, there is no more reason for us to fail our exams because we have all the time in the world to continue learning concepts and taking practice tests. So go ahead and master your craft even more. Do not waste this time given to us by not doing anything.

REMINISCE THE REASONS FOR YOUR DREAMS

I know this is not the best time on having second thoughts on why are you taking the exam, but just having a look back to the reasons why you started this dream can give that extra little motivation you need. Sometimes it is easy to lose track of your personal reasons when we are so caught up in the preparation stages of our exam. So try to meditate and rekindle the flames of fulfilling your dreams.

PATIENCE IS KEY

While it can be tiresome to continuously wait especially during our quarantine days, remember that great things are headed your way if you just patiently wait. Instant victory is not always gratifying. The more that we worked hard for something, the more that we can savor the win once we have it. So guys, keep calm and wait patiently.

We might have experienced a lot of delays in our lives prior to the one that we are facing right now. Through the various delays, we have learned that waiting for God’s perfect timing is always the best plan in our lives. While we are in a somewhat stagnant phase in our lives, let us make the most out of it and be productive. There is no harm in trying to enhance what you already know. Greater things are headed your way so keep holding on.
